What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically inserted below the gumline and into the jawbone to replace the missing root structure of teeth.
Because they’re biocompatible, dental implants naturally fuse with the jaw, allowing them to provide the area with stimulation and support that keeps the bone from deteriorating with time. Once osseointegration occurs, our team can then attach restorations atop the implants to complete your smile.
The 4-Step Dental Implant Process
- Consultation: To help determine your candidacy for dental implants in Delray Beach, Dr. Dadaciu begins every smile restoration journey with an in-depth consultation. In addition to gathering your medical and dental histories, our team will collect diagnostic images of your facial structure, and Dr. Dadaciu will outline what your treatment plan will look like.
- Placement: Due to Dr. Dadaciu’s vast experience and training, we surgically place dental implants in-house. This means that you won’t have to visit a different dental office midway through your process.
- Healing: For the following three to six months, your dental implants will fuse with your jawbone through a process called osseointegration. Once this is complete, we will attach small metal connector pieces onto the implant posts called abutments.
- Restoration: When we receive your final restorations from our dental laboratory, we can attach them to the abutments to secure them within your mouth and complete your treatment.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants have a lot to offer, which is why they’re quickly becoming the most popular option for replacing missing teeth. With the ability to preserve jawbone density, dental implants allow you to maintain your natural, full facial structure. Plus, because they restore the entire tooth, you will be able to eat all of your favorite foods without fear of shifting or slipping. And they are extremely durable, able to last for 30+ years in many cases (regular dentures and bridges typically have to be replaced every 5-10 years)
